First Fixie Build: Jeeves

Here’s some pics of my first build, an experiment mostly with brand x components – trying to create a real retro style fixie from a standard steel track frame, complete with nitto moustache bars, Dia compe brake lever and Radius front brake, lovely old school bell, some proper Brooks bar tape, a Charge Ladle saddle distressed with sandpaper until it looks old enough to come from the 30’s.. and some MKS pedals.

The project took some doing as the chainline was hard to get right – had to file cranks to slip further onto BB square tapers and in the end had to stick the chainring on the inside of the spindle to make it work.. all good fun and took some head scratching before it all came together. Now aptly named ‘Jeeves’ as he takes me to and from the pub and every where else in London -

I’ll add more pictures on a separate page – keep an eye on the links on the right..
